Holistic Care Association under Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME:

To prevent and control spread of infection in health care facilities.

  • To ensure safe & effective patient care by nurses.
  • To improve competency in using care bundles in ICU.
  • To ensure satisfactory job performance.
  • To achieve accreditation goals.

Audience: Registered nurses and post graduate nursing students [M. Sc & NPCC].

BRIEF REPORT OF THE PROGRAMME:

Holistic Care Association under Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University collaboratively organised an In-service program on International Infection Prevention week on 21-10-2021.

The session was moderated by Ms. Bharti Sachdeva, Associate Professor.

Speakers for the event were:

1. Introduction to ICU Care Bundles

1.1 Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI)- Mr Pankaj Sharma, ICN, SGT Hospital

1.2 Central Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI)-Dr Shivani Rathi, Professor, SGT Hospital

1.3 Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP)- Dr Ajay Kunar, SGT Hospital

1.4 Surgical Site Infection (SSI)- Dr Jasmin Debora

2. Antibiotic Stewardship- Dr Mukesh Sharma, SGT Hospital

Followed by Hand washing dance performance by GNM 2nd year students.

They enriched the session by sharing their experiences related to the subject and inspired the young minds to serve with awareness on Infection prevention. The program concluded with the question answer session.
