Nightingale association of stress management under the Department of Mental Health Nursing, SGT university-Faculty of Nursing organized Intercollegiate Quiz Competition on the occasion of International Day Against Drug abuse and Illicit trafficking under the theme-“Share Facts on Drug, Save Lives” on 26th June 2021.
The aim of this quiz competition was to spread the awareness among students regarding Drug Abuse and their illicit trafficking.
In the opening session Welcome address was given by Mrs. Ruchika Duggal, Assistant professor, after that the opening Remarks were given by Dr. Sunil Dular, Dean, Professor Faculty of Nursing, SGT University. He emphasized on increasing prevalence of the drug abuse among adolescents. He also encouraged to conduct similar programs in future for awareness. Next, Prof. Raman Deep Kaur, HOD, Mental health Nursing prelude the theme. She stated various facts and statistics related to drug abuse around the world. She stressed on the goal to strengthen the action and cooperation to move towards a drug free society. The moderator for the quiz competition was Ms. Anamika Gautam, Tutor, and Scoring was done by Mr. Rahul Gusain, Tutor, Faculty of nursing. At the end the event vote of thanks was propsed by Ms. Poonam Ahlawat, Assistant professor, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University.
Three Nursing colleges participated in this quiz competition i.e. College of Nursing MMU, Ambala, Apollo College Nursing, Delhi and Faculty of Nursing, SGT University.
All the candidates participated in the quiz competition with full enthusiasm and energy. The rounds in quiz competition were interesting and quite facts based.
The Winning team was from Faculty of Nursing, SGT University, Ms. Sameeksha and Mr. Amit students of Bsc Nursing 7th semester and the Runner up team was Apollo College of Nursing. The Trophy was Awarded to the Participants by Dr. Sunil Kumar Dular, Dean, Professor Faculty of Nursing. Overall the quiz competition was successful.
